A) And, believe my firstest novel was some years ago. FIRST, the title came to moi...THE SERPENTINE BOND!
B) "SERPENTINE" comes from the one-brick wide serpentine (wavy) wall behind some of the
gardens in back of the professors' campus homes, along the T.J. Academic Village! And this
backdrop for many scenes in my novel evolved into a "secret sanctuary garden', especially for
the dozens of confabs between my SEVEN (7) student personalities!
B) SEVEN students collegians---four coeds and three guys.
+RAIN...from New Orleans...Cajun...Jag convertible...Catholic...Psychology...Tai Chi.
+TABBI...Montana...country music...butterfly tatoo...horses...6th sense...Marketing.
+FIZZ...oldies...English Lit...writer....optimist...Uncle Remus tales...speaks out...New.
Hampshire.
+ KAIPO...Maui...Drama/Arts...hula dancing...learns to wink..."Precious"...swims with whales.
+TRENT...California...Pre-Law...lifeguard...self-assured...Twinkies...long hair...surfer.
+BUTT...Texas...Pre-Med...adopted...boots...red hair...likes mutant cookies...old Chevy.
+ROCKWELL...Philosophy/Logic...'60s music...nickname "Rascal"...Wile E. Coyote.
C) Unlike any of the few collegiate novels ever published, this one does not tary in the classroom,
but instead you get to know and appreciate the bonding seven on their "weekend
recess" ADVENTURES: haunted covered bridge...mt. chapel and kirkyard...Cajun
cafe...weekend on a lighthouse way out in the middle of a huge bay, also haunted...
a "ghost farmhouse"....
D) And the coterie has a "secret garden sanctuary" on Campus, behind a one-brick wide
serpentine garden wall. For four years, the seven "escape" late at night for their
'spacial confabs', discussions on nearly every current collegiate issue!
E) And, eventually, one of the seven, unbeknownst to the others and the reader of my novel,
begins to formulate a plan to make our America stop for a day, because our society's
principles have taken a dive!
The plan heats up after graduation...however, none of the seven can figure out which one
is working on the plan. They know what's coming and, ten years after graduation, they
try to stop the PLAN, but who, of their bond, is planning it? YOU, the reader, don't
know either, which one of the seven you have grown to like will....die as a result of
that plan based on PRINCIPLE.......
